About

The American Association of University Women

AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. By joining AAUW, you belong to a community that breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance. Since the first meeting of 17 women in 1881, AAUW has been breaking through educational and economic barriers for women and girls. Today, AAUW has nearly 100,000 members and a nationwide community that includes 1,000 branches and 500 college and university partners, as well as thousands of members who are not branch affiliated. Together, we provide networking, advocacy, and action that contribute to a more promising future for women and girls.

AAUW, Melrose-Wakefield Branch

We are a local branch of AAUW organized in 1959. The purpose of this branch is to unite the alumnae of colleges and universities for practical educational work, to increase their influence in  the community for the solution of social and civic problems, to participate in the development and promotion of the policies and programs of the national AAUW organization, to contribute to its growth and influence, and to cooperate in state and regional work. The branch awards two scholarships annually to deserving women students, the Branch Scholarship and the Goldblith Scholarship. The Melrose-Wakefield Area Branch includes members from north suburban communities.

Organizing Team

Eventure is curated by a small team of designers, researchers, and ecologists who believe that technology must serve the planet — not the other way around. Working between Milan, Nairobi, and São Paulo, the team brings together local knowledge and global collaboration to shape a gathering rooted in care, creativity, and systems thinking.
We don’t just program talks — we curate experiences, relationships, and ideas that grow long after the event ends.
